I started selling the dips at the local farmer’s market to earn some extra money to go on a trip to South America because I was feeling that my current job was lacking purpose and connection and I was going to take some time to think about how I could do something that would affect people in a positive, meaningful way.
All I had was a $500 credit card limit and a cargo bike. I hand cut all the labels to save money and stuck them on with tape. I picked up all my ingredients from the local veggie grocer on my cargo bike because I didn’t own a car and blended hundreds of dips in my little blender in my home kitchen.
It was the taste and good clean ingredients simple as that. That’s what got people talking and sharing. After my first market there was an overwhelming sense of joy in my heart! I have never felt so connected to my community. People we sharing their personal health stories with me and thanking me for what I had created. It was powerful and I knew that these little dips I was making could be my contribution to a happier, healthier planet. So I decided to stay in Vancouver and give the dips my full attention.
